Who Has The Right To Set the Standard of What is Right and Wrong Conduct

WHO HAS THE RIGHT TO SET THE STANDARD OF WHAT IS RIGHT CONDUCT AND UNRIGHTEOUS CONDUCT?

In my first blog I wrote one of Jesus' statements regarding "children of devil the and the children of God." And in the book of 1 John chapter 3 verse 10 it reveals: "The children of the devil and the children of God are evident by this fact: Whoever does not practice righteousness does not originate with God, nor does the one that does not love his brother. (NWT)

Now, I think that it is proper that we now need to know just what is righteousness.

In my opinion it would truly be an exercise in futility to write about what is righteousness without first stating who I believe has the right to set the standard of what is right and or unrighteous conduct here on planet earth. And giving my readers Scripture evidence why I believe like I do.

The reason that I say that it is an exercise in futility to write about what is righteousness without first writing about "who has the right to set the standard is because people have a tendency to set their own standard of what is right and or unrighteous conduct. For example, if we believe that it is okay to tell lies, and or shed innocent blood or we get a thrill on plotting and carrying out wicked schemes, or even race car driving down city streets, as long as they get us where we desire to be in life, let's do it! What kind of world would we have?

Some would say it would be "hell on earth" if everyone did just exactly as they please without any righteous standards to help guide us.

I think that most normal people believe that we'd be better off as a society if we read or learned for one that there is One who teaches that there are six things that the Law giver hates:

Yes, seven things that he detests; Haughty eyes, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood, A heart plotting wicked schemes, and feet that run quickly to evil, A false witness who lies with every breath, And anyone sowing contentions among brother." (Proverbs chapter 6 verses 16-19 NWT)

Yes, there are millions that believe that if the world began to learn things like this and do what pleases the Law Giver, we'd be showing keen concern for righteous standards as oppose to setting our own standards. And we'd be showing by our actions that we believe who has "the right to set the standard of what is right and wrong conduct" for us humans here on planet earth.

If we read Bible Book  Revelations one thing that we may find is that the whole Book of Revelations is about visions given to the Apostle John of things that will take place in our day.

Today, it is my hope that I am able to show you just a few examples of why I believe it is the God that made the heavens and the earth and all things in it, that it is he that has the right to set the standard of what is righteous and unrighteous conduct.

First of all Revelations chapter one starts by saying: “ A revelation by Jesus Christ, which God gave him, to show his slaves the things that must shortly take place. Who bore witness to the word God gave and to the witness that Jesus Christ gave, yes, to all the things he saw:” Revelation chapter 1 verses 1 and 2 NWT)

One of the things that he writes are: “You are worthy, Jehovah our God, to receive the glory and the honor and the power, because you created all things, and because of your will they came into existence and were created.” (Revelation chapter 4 verse 11 NWT)

John pronounces: “Happy is the one who reads aloud and those who hear the words this prophecy and who observe the things written in it, for the appointed time is near.”(Revelation chapter 1 verse 3 NWT)

Think about what’s been stated, namely that Jesus Christ wants the Good news to be preached “in all the inhabited earth.” Revelation is part of the “good news,” and John is pronouncing: “Happy is “ANYONE” OBSERVING THE WORDS OF THIS PROPHECY. WHAT’S MY POINT HERE? We may be missing out if we are not observing the words of this prophecy and do not have a clue or know who we are supposed to give glory, honor and the power. We may be missing out if we do not know who has the right to say what is right conduct and what is wrong conduct; who has the right to set the standard of right and wrong.

Jesus knew that God wanted everyone to have a fair chance to hear this good news. But Jesus was only going to be on earth 3 and a half years before his death, and so he wasn’t going to be able to preach in all the inhabited earth. He told his disciples: “Verily, verily, I say to unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also: and greater works than these shall he do:” (John chapter 14 verse 12 KJV)

This scripture assures us that Jesus faithful followers will continue to do the work(s) that Jesus did after his death. And Jesus and his followers are teaching us who will listen, who to give glory and honor and power to, and who has the right to set the standard. And in this way we now can begin discerning “children of the devil from the children of God.”

At Matthew 11 verse 25  Jesus gives a hint as regards how God feels about different matters. Here we read: “ At that time Jesus answered and said, I thank thee, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because thou hast hid these things from the wise and prudent, and revealed them unto babes.” (Matthew 11 verse 25 KJV)
